About Dialogos

Dialogos is a cross-temporal philosophical dialogue platform

Inspired by the dialogical tradition of Plato, Dialogos lets you invite thinkers from different eras—Plato, Laozi, Zhuangzi, the Buddha, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Lacan, de Beauvoir, Arendt, and others—to gather around a single question. They converse, debate, and pursue it from different angles, while you sit in the same "chamber," listening to the clash and resonance of their perspectives.

We do not claim to reproduce the actual words of these thinkers. Instead, based on publicly available texts and relevant academic research, we model and recreate their intellectual positions and linguistic styles. Every dialogue you see in Dialogos is an AI simulation and interpretation of these intellectual traditions in the present context.

Whether you're pondering concrete questions in life, self-studying philosophy and humanities, seeking inspiration for writing and creation, or simply curious about "what would happen if these people actually sat down together"—you can treat Dialogos as a safe laboratory for thought experiments: here, there are no standard answers, and dialogue itself is the purpose.

In Dialogos, the wise seem to be sitting right beside us: as if you were overhearing their heated debates in an Athenian agora, just like sharing drinks with them in a Parisian café or joining their late-night conversations in a Berlin tavern—and now, they are gathered in your own chamber. The honoured guests have arrived; the room is aglow.

User Guide

1. Choose a Dialogue Mode

Dialogos offers two dialogue modes: Roundtable Discussion (multiple thinkers discuss a topic, you can listen or interject) and Clash of Minds (two thinkers debate, a third serves as referee).

2. Enter a Topic and Select Thinkers

Enter the topic you want to explore, then select 2-4 thinkers to participate. You can use preset topics for a quick start or customize your own.

3. Start the Dialogue

After clicking "Start Dialogue", thinkers will speak one by one. In Roundtable mode, you can choose to continue, interject, or end the dialogue after each round.

4. Save and Export

Chamber Seat members can save dialogues to their personal chamber for later review. You can also export dialogues as text files or generate summaries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the dialogues real views of the thinkers?

No. All dialogue content is AI-generated, representing simulations and interpretations of historical thinkers' perspectives, not their actual views. This content is for thought experiments and entertainment only, not professional advice.

What's the difference between Free and Chamber Seat?

Free users can have 3 dialogues per day with limited rounds, and dialogues are not saved. Chamber Seat members get 100 rounds per day, longer dialogues, and can save, export dialogues, and generate summaries.

How do I use the @ mention feature?

In Roundtable mode, you can use @ThinkerName when interjecting to call on specific thinkers. For example: @Laozi @Heidegger. The mentioned thinkers will respond to your question in the next round.

What languages are supported?

The Dialogos interface supports Chinese, English, and French. The dialogue output language can be selected when creating a dialogue, also supporting these three languages.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription in the Subscription Management section of the Settings page. After cancellation, you will continue to enjoy Chamber Seat benefits until the end of the current billing period.
